As you know, Monkey and I do some travelling. We have been to many places in the UK, Europe and even to the USA, we have stayed in many places but this week we have been to Milton Keynes and we found the nastiest mouldy room ever in a Travelodge at Milton keynes town centre.
After a long day Monkey wanted a bath, I usually run him the sink but there was no plug, sio we checked the bath, no plug there either. I went to reception to ask about plugs. "They get stolen" we were told. "Do they get replaced?" I asked. Not any more it would seem. The price of a room for the night no longer carrys the profit to replace a stolen plug.
No problem we thought, shower....then as Monkey looked up he saw the state of the mouldy walls. Not nice, brown filth al over the place. We rubbed it with a bit of toilet rool and sooap and it came off, so I guess it's just a case of not being cleaned properly. Well that's ok then isn't it?
I'd like to say that it was just a part of the bath area but it wasn't, it was slimey mould everywhere, so much care had to be taken when the shower was eventually braved.
Still, the water was hot, shower pressure was good, thats better than a lot of places. Shame they didn't use that hot high pressure water to clean the walls eh!
Yep, brown slimey bathroom wall.
Mind you, while I will knock the cleanliness of the place, I will not knock the staff, the girl at the desk was helpful and prepared to answer any questions about the area. It would seem that all she isn't given is plug budget.
We were just getting over the bathroom and then as light fell and we had to turn lights on we noticed splatt! marks all over the wall
The splats that are caused by balls of wet toilet paper being thrown at the wall until they stick. Not one or two either, our wall looked like a collection of dead watery spiders.
Monkey commented that even the jungle didn't have to put up with this. Uggh...
Not staying there again, Monkey talked to work and there will be no more Travelodge usage.
